CHW Insurance Verification Specialist

The right candidate will be responsible for verifying third party payor benefits for patients with scheduled appointments, documenting insurance benefits.

Required:
Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent 1
years of experience in insurance credentialing Bilingual in Spanish Preferred Must possess or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Texas for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Department of Motor Vehicle check may be required, if applicable.
Customer Service Oriented.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent Computer Skills MS Office.
Must be willing and able to work evening and weekend hours if necessary.
Must be in compliance with GCHD Immunizations policy.
Must be in compliance with ICS training requirements.
Must pass criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening.
An equivalent combination of education and work experience which appropriately demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above described essential functions will be considered when hiring for this role.
Traditional Duties Is proficient in the use of Availity and insurance-specific portals to accurately verify insurance coverage and patient responsibility Responsible for entering data in an accurate manner, updating patient benefit information in the clinic's insurance system, and verifying that existing information is accurate Maintains and exhibits a current knowledge of insurance plans, associated workflows, and information, and understands the impact of this role within the revenue cycle Serve as backup to the Billing & Collection Specialist Serves as a trusted resource to patients, providing them with pertinent information regarding their coverage.
Clearly explains to patients the coverage amounts provided by their insurance policy, so they can understand why some procedures may be covered, while others are not Reading and interpreting insurance explanation of benefits Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor No Phone Calls Please ADA/EEO/DFWP Our Mission:
